Stories
In their own words.
Sickle cell is usually described in statistics. These are the people the statistics are about.
Before you publish anything on this page. Get written permission from every person named or pictured. For anyone under eighteen, get it from a parent or guardian and from the child. Ask explicitly whether they want their full name, first name only, or no name. Tell them the page is public and searchable, and that a diagnosis published on the internet is very hard to take back. Let anyone withdraw at any time, and act on it the same day.
Tell us yours
If you live with sickle cell in Uganda, or you care for someone who does, and you would like to tell your story here, we would like to hear it. Nothing gets published without your say-so.
